A Two Car Family

Last month Todd and I finally bought a second car! We had been making things work okay with just one car, but Todd needs the car during the day at work, and Tori is getting to the age now where she can't just sit at home all day. We decided that especially since we were home schooling her, it was important for her to get out and have experiences that she just can't have sitting at home.

We did some research and ended up finding a good deal on a 2001 PT Cruiser. I never thought I'd own a PT Cruiser, but it was the best deal we found. It is really clean, has low miles, and has leather interior (this has already come in handy when cleaning up after kids!). Thought we'd share a few pics!

Party Time!

The Sunday after Aaron's birthday we had family over for a small party for Aaron's first birthday! Grandma and Grandpa Briggs came, and Jeff, Jesica and Gavin and Ryan were there. Here are some pictures of our little boy's first birthday. We love you Aaron!!

Aaron loves balls, and balloons were one of his favorite things about the party!

I always call Aaron my little bug, or Pill bug if he's being difficult, snuggle bug if he's cuddling with me, etc. So I thought a "bug" cake would be appropriate and would provide plenty of messy baby cake face pictures! :) Plus, the older kids loved that it looked like worms and bugs crawling in dirt (crushed Oreos). Not too fancy, but it was fun!

Jeff is a wonderful uncle, and Aaron adores him. Jeff always has to torture my kids though, and he had fun blowing the party blower in Aaron's face. It kept Aaron amused for at least 10 minutes, just trying to bite it when it came near his mouth!

A video of us singing "Happy Birthday" to Aaron

Smiles for Uncle Jeff...Jeff is one of Aaron's very favorite people...a miracle in light of all of the torture Jeff bestows upon him!

Aaron trying to figure out chocolate cake for the first time.

Aaron deciding he really likes chocolate cake!

Chocolate smiles!

Aaron loves sucking his left thumb, and apparently it was even better coated in chocolate! Smart boy!

Yea for chocolate cake!

I love this picture because it looks like he's applauding himself on the mess he made!

Messy smiles with Grandpa

After Aaron was cleaned up he opened presents...a couple of ball toys from Mommy and Daddy and Tori, some new pants from Uncle Jeff and Aunt Jesica, and a cool bath toy with little sea animals and a boat from Grandma and Grandpa.
